QQ2: Is the Ace High or Low? Ask Saraswati Maa for the Wisdom to Read the Game's Name Too

Two correct rummy explanations can disagree when their variant names are removed. Compare Gin Rummy and Indian Rummy before judging an ace sequence.

One saved note says that the ace is the lowest card. Another says it can appear at either end of the order. You read both and decide that one author must be wrong.

Restore the names above the sentences

Bicycle's Gin Rummy rules give the order from king down to ace. In that version, the ace is low. A♥ 2♥ 3♥ follows the low end; Q♥ K♥ A♥ does not form a run under that order.

Taj Rummy's Indian Rummy explanation permits the ace at the low or high end of a sequence. Within that stated convention, A♥ 2♥ 3♥ and Q♥ K♥ A♥ can each be natural sequences. This does not make K♥ A♥ 2♥ a sequence wrapping from one end to the other.

We have not made the two sentences identical. We have restored the condition under which each is meant to be read. “In Gin Rummy…” and “Under these Indian Rummy rules…” are part of the answer, even if a short screenshot cuts them off.

When checking an explanation, keep the variant name beside its source. Then match that complete note to the rules of the game you intend to play. A familiar word such as rummy is too broad to do that work on its own.

The question has become more useful: not simply “Which sentence is true?” but “Which sentence belongs to the game I am trying to understand?”
