GEM7 Game: Two Different Arrangements, One Valid Rummy Hand

The same thirteen natural cards can form three groups or four. Check both complete arrangements and ask Saraswati Maa for discernment beyond personal preference.

“You have made four groups. I only need three.” Neither sentence, by itself, proves that the other person is wrong.

GEM7 Game readers can compare two complete arrangements of the same thirteen cards: A♠ 2♠ 3♠ 4♠ 5♠ 6♠, 8♥ 9♥ 10♥, and K♠ K♥ K♦ K♣. All cards are used naturally.

Arrangement one: three groups

A♠ 2♠ 3♠ 4♠ 5♠ 6♠.
8♥ 9♥ 10♥.
K♠ K♥ K♦ K♣.

The first group is a six-card pure sequence, with the ace used low. The second is a three-card pure sequence. The kings form a four-card set in four different suits. All thirteen cards are accounted for: six plus three plus four.

Arrangement two: four groups

A♠ 2♠ 3♠.
4♠ 5♠ 6♠.
8♥ 9♥ 10♥.
K♠ K♥ K♦ K♣.

The spades have been split into two pure sequences. Together with the hearts, there are now three sequences and the same four-card set. Three plus three plus three plus four still gives thirteen. No card has been added or removed.

What does the rule require?

Under the conditions described in A23's sets and sequences guide, a sequence may contain three or more consecutive same-suit cards. A complete thirteen-card arrangement needs at least two sequences, including a pure one, with the remaining cards properly grouped. Both arrangements satisfy those conditions.

The second does not invalidate the first by containing an extra sequence. The first does not invalidate the second by using fewer groups.

Both valid arrangements can stay in mind during darshan at Saraswati Maa's offering area. Offer the displayed books, white flowers, fruits, kheer and deepak together, seeking the grace to recognise understanding that takes a different form from your own.
