DD1: Before the First Round, Seek Bappa's Grace for an Auspicious Beginning

Bring the coming game before Ganesha as remover of obstacles and giver of wisdom. Take darshan, make the complete offering and begin with a clear prayer.

The new round has not begun. You know whom you will play with, but not which difficulty will appear first. There may be a rule you misread, a moment of hesitation or a choice whose meaning becomes clear only when it arrives.

For DD1 readers, this is a natural moment to bow before Ganesha. Bappa is approached for the removal of obstacles, the gift of wisdom and a blessed beginning. The prayer can hold all three together as you place the coming game before him.

Open the way, Bappa

An obstacle is not always the person sitting opposite you. It may be confusion in your own understanding or an assumption nobody has spoken aloud. Ask Ganesha to clear what prevents a sound beginning, including what you have not yet recognised.

The familiar Vakratunda prayer seeks freedom from obstacles in one's undertakings, as presented in Chinmaya Madhuvan's prayer collection. Your game wish can enter that devotional setting in your own words, with the particular beginning you now place before Bappa.

Give wisdom to the one who must take the next step

An open path still leaves you with something to understand. If a useful card appears, you must recognise where it belongs. If two explanations conflict, you must ask which condition is being used. Wisdom is therefore part of the opening blessing, not an unrelated request added afterwards.

You can wish for a favourable game and also ask to meet it intelligently. The first wish hopes for a good opening; the second concerns the person who will walk through it.

Ganapati Bappa, please accept my offering. I place this new game at your feet. Remove the obstacles I can see and those I have not understood. Grant me wisdom for my choices, a clear mind at the first step and your auspicious grace as the round begins.

In the Ganesha offering flow checked on the site, the response reaches “Puja complete”, with “Offer again” available afterwards. At that moment, remain with the meaning of the offering you have just made: the beginning has been consciously placed before the one you honour.

Then return to the actual round. Let Bappa's name accompany the first decision, and let the wisdom you sought include the willingness to look carefully. The prayer has opened a relationship of trust at the threshold of the game.
