An ishta is the deity closest to your heart and your aim. Not every prayer belongs to every murti. Matching the wish to the right seat is what elders call mel.
Wealth and steady fortune — Lakshmi Maa. A blocked start — Shri Ganesha. Victory under pressure — Maa Durga. Still mind — Mahadev Shiva. Stamina and nerve — Hanuman Ji. Clear judgment — Saraswati Maa.
Before you ask, take darshan: form, katha, and naivedya. Name the wish clearly, offer what that deity accepts, and keep the order — Ganesha often opens the door first.

धन और स्थिर सौभाग्य — लक्ष्मी माता। अटका आरंभ — श्री गणेश। दबाव में विजय — माँ दुर्गा। स्थिर मन — महादेव शिव। सहनशक्ति — हनुमान जी। स्पष्ट विवेक — सरस्वती माता।
माँगने से पहले दर्शन लें: रूप, कथा और नैवेद्य। चाहत साफ़ कहें, जो उन्हें प्रिय हो वह अर्पित करें, क्रम रखें — द्वार अक्सर गणेश ही खोलते हैं।
इष्ट मेल पर इष्ट चुनें, मेल देखें, फिर नैवेद्य अर्पित करें।
